Although the unofficial official end of summer isn’t until Labor Day, it is essentially over for me as I go back to school next week. So even though you CSULB people don’t start until after Labor Day, I figure the summer is over when you have that feeling of impending stress from schoolwork.
And although the summers never seem long enough, this last summer of mine before graduation has been packed with events and work and trips. This summer, I’ve been to 2 weddings, gone to Sea World, been to San Luis Obispo, and played golf as much I could fit in. All this besides taking a class in Feminist Theory and working a near full work week. Needless to say, it hasn’t been a summer of sleeping in and lazing around. Moreover, the movies I’ve been able to see this summer have been really good — from Knocked Up to Superbad to The Simpsons, and the many I didn’t get to see: Ocean’s 13, Pirates of The Carribean, and Transformers.
All in all, it’s a been a fun summer. But as we move into the fall, it becomes time to put on the jerseys, spread the eyeblack, buy the big screen tv, and put the antenna balls on. That’s right, USC football starts in a whole 9 days from now! Football is almost here and it’s probably the single greatest thing about the fall. So all you UCLA fans out there, I’m calling you out. Last year you beat us, but this year will be revenge.
Hope you all had a good summer, and Fight On!

Your summer sounds about as full as mine was. I am ready for life to not be so busy! Oh, and I want to go to a game!

I actually went to a scrimmage at the Coliseum last night and sat in the 6th row almost at the 50 yd. line. It’ll be the closest I ever sit to the field there, I’m sure.
It just wasn’t quite the same as gameday, though. Start saving your pennies — and your nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills for that matter — if you want to go to a game.

What about those who go to a community college? Don’t those schools count??

Community schools definitely count…but only if they have a football team!
