Unless you’ve been living inside a cave for the last month, you probably knew that the iPhone made it’s retail debut Friday Evening at Apple Stores across the country. People lined up for days in advance so they could shell out hundreds of dollars for the phone, and I caught a story on Digg about one woman in Texas and her attempts to buy the iPhone.
Apparently, she brought with her $16,000 dollars so that she could buy all the iPhones at the store. So she paid the first guy in line for his spot (a cool $800) only to learn that Apple had place a limit on the number of iPhones that people could buy (2 iPhones I think). You can check out the news video to hear more of the story.
It goes without saying that this woman was being lame by trying to buy all the iPhones so that no one else could get one. But I think the lesson to be learned here is from the guy at the front of the line. He made $800, which more than paid for his iPhone. I also heard that people were advertising on Craig’s List that they would wait in line for an iPhone for people. These people are making loads of money just to sit and wait! I think next time there is a big release for a product, I’m going to camp out a week in advance, not to buy anything, just to sell my spot to the highest bidder. Anybody with me?

You have fun with that Tyler. I camped out over night that one time with your mom for Disney’s 50th so that we could get the limited edition merchandise… and let me tell you, that one night was enough camping out for me!
