Mark your calendars. This is a historic moment. I believe this is the first time I have ever mentioned “The Office” on the 18-20 Somethings blog. It’s the greatest show on TV right now, and I think all of you should watch it (if you already don’t).

If you caught last week’s episode, Michael (Steve Carell) gets advice on negotiation from Wikipedia, such as “change the location of the negotiation without notice” and “refuse to speak first”. Well, like any cult craze, many viewers immediately went online and began changing the “negotiation” entry on Wikipedia, forcing Wikipedia to limit the editing to that entry.

Last month, Mike Goldsworthy also caused a ruckus on Wikipedia, claiming in his blog that he “invented” the frappuccino. He subsequently edited the Wikipedia entry and staked his claim to frappuccino history. However, his edit has since been removed (it’s probably a conspiracy by Starbucks, right Mike?).

But all this Wikipedia business got me thinking, so I went on to the website and searched my name, “Tyler Brown”. I found no entry and so I decided that I would stake my claim to the Wikipedia landscape. Maybe you’d like to do the same. All you have to do is create a username and password, and then type away.
