Yes, the website is here! Some of you have already began exploring the website, and I hope that you all enjoy the new features of the website. The beautiful thing about the technology we are using (WordPress) is that we can always update/add/edit things on the site as needs arise, so we’ll try to keep the site somewhat dynamic, because change is good.
So let me give you a tour of the website.
First off, we have 5 pages:
- The homepage contains the blog, and is what you see when you visit notyourmammaschurch.com
- The about page (which is not done yet) will give you a history, description, and vision for the 18-20 Somethings ministry
- The Small Groups page has information on the small groups that we offer, and how to get involved in a small group
- There is a page for Upcoming Events where you can find out what is coming up next, as well as information on the events and who to contact
- The last page is for the Dominican Republic trip, which will be taking place this summer and is coordinated by Jaime Hambleton. So if you want to go on the trip or know more info about it, this page will be a good place to find that information
That’s it for the pages, now onto some of the features that are currently on the website. In the sidebar on each page, there is the abbreviated list of events. This just gives the listing of events, and the full descriptions can be seen on the upcoming events page.
Below that are some websites that you might be interested in, including the Parkcrest website and Mike’s blog.
If you want to look at all posts pertaining to some category, you can do that by clicking on whatever category you wish to look.
The final feature is the list of books. I have been having trouble trying to get it to organize the books correctly, but it’s a list of books that I think are good books to read. Clicking on the book picture will take you to the Amazon page for that book.
Those are the features that are currently on the website. In the near future, I should be including such features as Upcoming Sermon Series at Parkcrest/Parkcrest Info, an RSS/Atom feed button so you can easily find the feed to add to your favorite reader, and possibly a page with some events that are going around Long Beach, since we do want to be connected into the city we’re trying to impact.
So that’s all for now. Enjoy the Site!

It’s fun getting to do this kind of stuff. Although I feel I’m taking the credit for a lot of the work WordPress does.

You’re welcome! The info is awesome and all, but I do have to admit, that I LOVE the picture! I think it may be my favorite thing.

Well, then I ought to credit Brent Otey for the picture of the beach scene. And then a little cropping and some fancy text go a long way.
But I do appreciate the complement on the picture. It represents our Long Beachness very well.
