History
The 18-20 Somethings ministry sprang out of ‘5950′, a ministry designed to reach the “Emerging Generation”, a group of 18-20 Somethings that often can feel disconnected in churches. As time went on, it became apparent that 5950 was too segregated from the rest of the church (it met on Sunday nights and had its own service), and so in August of 2006, 5950 came to an end, and coinciding with the opening of Parkcrest’s new venues, the 18-20 Somethings ministry was born
Who We Are
The 18-20 Somethings ministry is a ministry made up of people that are from 18 all the way into their 20’s and there are quite a few people who are in their 30’s in the ministry. So it’s not an exclusive group, but the focus is on getting the younger generation, from people that are college aged to people that are well out of college, connected with one another.
What We do
The goal of the 18-20 Somethings ministry is to connect 18-20 Somethings with other 18-20 Somethings. There are small groups, hang-out events, and a mission trip to the Dominican Republic among other things. We want the younger generation to feel like they have a place in the church, so that’s what we’re here for. You can find all the information about the ministry on this website, so get connected today! Hang out events will be listed on the Upcoming Events page, information about small groups is on the Small Groups page (duh!), and information about El Circulo, the church we have built a strong relationship with in the Dominican Republic, is on the Dominican Republic Page. And for your convenience, all the links to these pages are at the top of each page.
The Leadership Team
The leadership consists of 4 people: Tyler Brown (me), Brittany Stringfellow, Jaime Rose Hambleton, and Heather Field.
I am in charge of facilitating the website, Brittany coordinates the small groups, Jaime handles missions (which is currently the relationship with El Circulo in the Dominican Republic), and Heather handles events.
Here are the email addresses of each of our leaders, in case you would like to ask them a question or contact them:
- Tyler Brown: tjohnbrown@gmail.com
- Jaime Rose Hambleton: jaimerose1982@aol.com
- Heather Field: Veggie1753@msn.com
We’re open to hearing from you all, because it’s a ministry designed to serve you, so make the ministry your own. If you’ve got an idea for an event, or for the website, or have some other idea for any part of the ministry, we want to know. As leaders, we help organize the ministry. But our job is not to dictate the ministry. The ministry is dependent on the people that make it up, which is YOU.
